The Arlington Public Schools is seeking a instrumental (Woodwind, Brass and Percussion) teacher who have experience working with elementary and middle school children to provide group instrumental music instruction to students in grades 3-8.

 

The person in this position will teaching woodwind/brass/percussion instrumental lessons, Grades 3-5
Directing Gibbs and Ottoson Bands (Grades 6-8)
 

Requirements: Experience teaching elementary and/or middle school children

 

The successful candidates will demonstrate expertise on their instruments and a strong background in and knowledge of materials, methods, and the pedagogy associated with their instruments. Experience teaching students in small and large group setting is essential. Successful candidates will exhibit dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and engage elementary and middle school students, and maintain and enhance enthusiastic participation in music making in a safe, supportive, and student-centered environment.

Bachelor’s degree in applied music or music education is required.

MA DESE licensure is required.

 

This is an AEA Unit A Position.  Salary is based on the AEA Contract, taking into account degrees and experience.
